Taupo Thai Restaurant, this restaurant focuses on Southeast Asian cuisine. The curry crab in this store is really good. I also ordered a big lobster. The meat is really very elastic.

The world&#39;s coolest McDonald&#39;s restaurant in Taupo, this store is a real old-fashioned Boeing aircraft, is a propeller passenger plane, all kinds of equipment in the cockpit are still retained, all the cabins are red card seats. Won the &quot;Coolest McDonald&#39;s&quot; in 34,000 restaurants worldwide, and is now a local tourist attraction. In fact, the McDonald&#39;s burger sold is no different from other McDonald&#39;s restaurants. It is a representative example of the form greater than the content.

Great location by the lake with views as well. Indoor and out door seating so plenty of choices.  Had the chicken tacos and they were so good went back the next night and had them again!

I&apos;ve been here many times on our visits to New zealand .The place is busy, and you can opt to sit in the bar or restaurant. Waited over 40 minutes for meals, but the bar lady did come and apologise for the wait. There was a good choice of drinks so time wait was long but not bad . Was surprised when paying that the lovely manager apologised and gave a discount on the meal for the wait. A lovely offer . Will happily go back when next visiting.

Summer Evening in Taupo

We had to wait 90 mins for the food to be delivered and still  it was incomplete. When we mentioned it, we were told that everyone was the same and had to wait .. the team could not recall what we ordered when we ask for the bill and we were refused for any discount +  got told “sorry we can’t do anything as the Manager’s discount allocation has been reached” …  frankly it is very, very poor, we will never return.

Very poor customer service

Good atmosphere with good intentioned staff. However will definitely not be back again unfortunately for the reasons I will outline 1) Terrible bar set up. Upon arrival it took 15 minutes to get a drink at the bar. Granted it was a Friday evening, however they were horrendously understaffed. 2) Table service was indifferent, served by 3 different waitresses. I guess this should have been  a warning sign for issues we faced later. 3) After 20 minutes of waiting for I drinks I asked what was happening, they finally arrived promptly. One was wrong but I sucked it up rather than waiting. 4) Meals took 45 minutes! We were a group of 6 with 2 children. Ridiculous waiting time 5) I ordered the Pork Ribs ($43) expecting a bountiful meal for that exorbitant price. In reality they were beyond terrible. Chips were cold and mushy, ribs were over cooked and dry. My wife&apos;s GF fish and chips were dreadful and the kids meals were pitiful for what you pay. 6) Upon leaving (thankfully) our table had been charged 6 extra drinks that weren&apos;t our. As stated earlier the whole place was disorganized and understaffed. This took time to sort and was an extra inconvenience.  Overall this place has gone down hill considerably. Fine if you want a beer and a bit of banter, but avoid if looking for an enjoyable dining experience
